Lesson distribution across the week
You can manage how lessons are spread across the week using individual settings or school-wide rules.
Set rules for individual lessons
Go to the Constraints section of any lesson to define these rules:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Min. days/week | The minimum number of days this lesson must be scheduled each week. |
| Max. days/week | The maximum number of days this lesson can be scheduled. |
| Max. lessons/day | The maximum number of times this lesson can happen in a single day. |
If you leave these blank, we'll apply the global school defaults.
Set school-wide rules
In Timetable constraints, you can turn on global rules to manage how lessons are distributed by default:
- Appropriate number of days for lesson distribution: This automatically spreads lessons out based on how often they occur (for example, lessons that meet 4 or more times a week will be spread over at least 3 days).
- Uniform distribution of lessons across days: This keeps the schedule balanced by spreading lessons as evenly as possible across the week.
- No 3 identical lessons in the same day: This ensures the same lesson doesn't happen more than twice in one day.
Which rules take priority?
Individual lesson settings always take priority over global rules. Use specific settings whenever a lesson needs its own unique distribution.
