Assign subgroup lessons using Quick Add
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Overview
Quick Add is a spreadsheet-style interface for entering multiple lessons quickly. It fully supports subgroups and is the fastest way to set up lessons for a division.
Go to Lessons → Quick Add.
The Groups column
Each row in the Quick Add table has a Groups column. This column accepts both regular classes and subgroups.
- Regular classes appear as standard chips
- Subgroups appear as distinct chips with a different style
Selecting a subgroup
Click on the Groups cell of a row. A dropdown opens showing all available classes and subgroups. Subgroups are listed separately and labeled with their division name.
Click a subgroup to select it. It will appear as a chip in the cell. You can combine multiple subgroups or mix classes and subgroups in the same lesson if needed.
Click outside the cell or press Tab to confirm and move to the next cell.
Keyboard navigation
- Tab — move to the next cell in the row
- Enter — confirm selection and move to the next row
Example
To add lessons for the English and French subgroups of class 10B (division Beginner Languages):
| Teacher | Subject | Groups | Lessons/week |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alice Brown | English | 10B-English | 3 |
| Pierre Martin | French | 10B-French | 3 |
Different teachers, same division — the scheduler knows these two lessons can run in parallel and will try to keep their slots aligned without leaving gaps for either subgroup.
