Example scenario: optional subjects
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Scenario: Students in class 11C choose between two electives: Informatics or Music. Putting them in a division keeps everyone's schedule aligned — no gaps for either group.
Step 1: Create the division
Go to Classes → 11C → Subgroups → Add division.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Division name | Optional |
| Subgroups | opt1, opt2 |
Click Save.
Step 2: Add the lessons
Go to Lessons → Quick Add and enter:
| Teacher | Subject | Groups | Lessons/week |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anna Lee | Informatics | 11C-opt1 | 1 |
| Robert Davis | Music | 11C-opt2 | 1 |
Because both lessons are in the Optional division, we'll schedule them at the same time.
How it looks on the timetable
Informatics students are in opt1 while Music students are in opt2 — all at the same period, so neither group has a free slot.
