Regenerate a timetable
Last updated: May 18, 2026
How to regenerate your timetable
Open any timetable and click the Regenerate button in the toolbar. You'll have a few options to choose from:
Your generation options
- Minimize changes: This keeps as many lessons as possible in their current spots. It's perfect if you're already using the timetable and just need to make a few small tweaks.
- Allow full rescheduling: This gives the scheduler total freedom to move any lesson. Use this when you're looking for the absolute best result and don't mind if everything moves around.
- Generation time: This sets how many minutes the scheduler will work. Giving it more time usually leads to a better result. We'll suggest a time based on your data, but you're free to adjust it.
Pinning lessons
If there are specific lessons you don't want to move at all, just open the lesson and use the pin options before you regenerate:
- Pinned time slot: Keeps the day and period exactly where they are.
- Pinned room: Keeps the same room assigned.
- Pinned teacher: Keeps the teacher assignment fixed.
Don't worry about your original
Regenerating always creates a brand-new timetable. Your original stays safe in your list so you can always go back to it if you need to.
Just a heads-up: Regeneration uses your current data. If you've deleted a teacher or class since you made the original timetable, they won't show up in the new one.
