Scenario: Computer lab rotation
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Scenario: Class 10A has Informatics lessons in the computer lab. The lab can only fit half the class, so the class is split into two groups (lab1 and lab2) that have their lessons in separate sessions.
Step 1 — Create the division
Go to Classes → 10A → Subgroups → Add division.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Division name | Lab groups |
| Subgroups | lab1, lab2 |
Save.
Step 2 — Add the lessons
Go to Lessons → Quick Add:
| Teacher | Subject | Groups | Lessons/week |
|---|---|---|---|
| John Smith | Informatics | 10A-lab1 | 1 |
| John Smith | Informatics | 10A-lab2 | 1 |
Room assignment
Make sure the computer lab is assigned to both lessons and that it is set up correctly in the Rooms section. Because both subgroups need the same room, they cannot occupy it at the same time — the scheduler will place the two lessons at different time slots.
Result in the timetable
lab1 and lab2 have their Informatics lesson in separate slots, both using the computer lab. Students in each group have the lesson once a week on different days or periods.
